Deryl Davis is a Washington-based writer, actor, and director involved in ministry at Wesley Theological Seminary and nearby Washington National Cathedral.
Deryl passionately believes in the reconciling power of theatre and in its role as a transformative agent in the church. From biblical improvisation to liturgical drama, playwriting, and production of full-length plays, Deryl strives to provide students at Wesley with the opportunity to explore both the holiness of drama and its manifold uses in ministry.
Current projects include:
- A book-in-progress, "From Darkness To Light: A Spiritual Journey Through Dante's 'Divine Comedy.'
- A full-length, non-realistic play on the life of Francis of Assisi including talking animals (but not
birds!) - A short series of dramatic sketches on the Wesleys and other early Methodist figures
- A processional passion play (in revision)
